Carrie Lynn + Blake

I don't go to Starville, MS very often...I actually try to avoid it since I bleed red & blue for my Ole Miss Rebels, but for these two?!  YES PLEASE!

I'm pretty sure I've known Carrie Lynn since she was two or three and I mean it every time I say what a blessing it is when someone I've know for so long asks me to be a part of such a special time in their life!  I hadn't had the opportunity to meet Blake until the day of these pictures but these two are a perfect fit for each other.  You can definitely tell they were best friends first because that friendship rings so true and bright in their love for each other!

I wanted to share a few from their engagement session, but I must be honest...I'm more excited about their January wedding because I LOVE a good January wedding!

Double the BIRTHDAY fun!

TWINS!!!

If you know me personally, you know that I myself and am a twin and I love all things twins!  I mean it really is the best thing in the world and I could go on for hours about why!  So getting to take pictures of twins was a real treat.

But more seriously I was so blessed and humbled by this session because their dad and I grew up together and have known each other for almost 20 years! (Am I seriously old enough to say that?!). When their sweet mother had them, I remember praying so many prayers for these two and it was so wonderful to be a part of celebrating their first year!  So to their parents, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for asking me to take these!

Sweet Baby J

When I first started photography, it was WEDDINGS all day, all the time, nothing else.  Being 18, I had no desire to add anything else to my portfolio because weddings were my passion.  The reason I picked up the camera every Saturday.

Isn't it funny how you think you have it all figured out and then the Lord places so many other things on your heart and gives you the path towards them?  Well that's where Newborn Photography (and all of the other sessions) came in.  I had my daughter almost 2 years ago and fell in love with all things baby.  And I set a goal 3 years ago to be the newborn photographer I dreamed of having for my own children.

Fast forward to this sweet little man's session!  I had been through mentoring and training and so many hours of studying and practice and apprenticeship and it was my chance to try THE shot.  And let me tell you this little guy didn't disappoint and for his sweet slumber and simple session's perfection I am so thankful.  Enjoy!

Kaitlin + James

Who doesn't love a good May wedding??

I was so thrilled to take Kaitlin and James' wedding pictures because:

  1. They got married on my own anniversary and that made the day even more special!
  2. I've known Kaitlin for almost 10 years and it's always special to do a friend's wedding.
  3. Kaitlin has been my assistant a handful of times and is my go to photo booth attendant so I just KNEW her day would be calm, cool, and collected!

They got married at one of the most beautiful venues in the Jackson, MS area.  So, if you're looking for an amazing outdoor venue, Bridlewood at Madison is the place to go!

Haley + Nathan

They say that April showers bring May flowers...but they don't tell you about the surprise cold fronts and below freezing temperatures!

Haley and Nathan had the most beautiful wedding just outside of Oxford at the Camp Hopewell chapel with the reception at The Nest B&B.  (One of my favorite and so underrated venues in the Oxford area!)  What no one expected was the cold, or should I say FREEZE, front that came through to help them celebrate.  I can honestly say that I have never seen a bride more calm in more frustrating circumstances and these two made the most of a very cold situation and they celebrated like it was 75 degrees outside!

Thanks for having me there that day Haley & Nathan! :)
